OUTDOOR ELECTRICAL SAFETY

With Spring comes the chance to get outside to tidy up the yard and take on some DIY projects. Here's the top 5 thing you need to think of to stay safe while you do.
  1. Electric-powered mowers and other tools should not be used in the rain, on wet grass or in wet conditions.
  2. Inspect power tools and electric-powered garden tools before use for frayed power cords, broken plugs and cracked or broken housings. If damaged, do not use. Repair or replace immediately.
  3. Use only extension cords specifically marked for outdoor use, and rated for the power needs of your tools.
  4. Unplug all power tools when not in use.
  5. When using a ladder, always check for, and avoid, overhead wires and power lines. Click here for more ladder safety tips.
