
USE OF LADDERS
Check out the tips you need to have before you climb.
- Inspect the ladder before use for faults or extensive wear.
- Do not use a metal ladder near a source of electricity.
- If using a step-ladder, do not stand on the top cap.
- If using an extension ladder, do not stand on the top three rungs.
- Wear sturdy footwear with a rubberized sole.
- Always rest the ladder on a solid, level surface.
- Ask a friend to hold the base of the ladder steady.
- Don't overreach.
- Keep the ladder away from electrical circuits.
- Always maintain three-point contact with the ladder. (Two feet and one hand, or two hands and one foot.)
