TREE TRIMMING
Take care when trimming your tree to ensure a carefree holiday.
- If using an artificial tree, purchase one with the label "Fire Resistant/Retardant."
- Choose a freshly cut live tree to lower the risk of fire.
- A freshly cut tree has green needles that are hard to pull from the braches and do not break when bent between your fingers, and a trunk butt that is sticky with resin.
- Place your tree away from fireplaces, radiators, televisions, heating ducts or sunny windows.
- Use a tree stand with widespread legs for balance.
- Keep your tree stand topped up with water.
- String no more than three strands of lights together.
- Use only indoor lights on indoor trees.
- After the holidays, remove the tree as soon as possible.
