AROUND THE YARD

Even chores can be fun when you're outside on a beautiful day. So keep it safe with these tips!
  1. Wear protective clothing when handling pesticides and fertilizers.
  2. Wear proper footwear, and eye and hearing protection when operating mowers, trimmers, lawn edgers, pruners and power saws.
  3. Rake grass before mowing to prevent stones or debris from being 'launched' by the blades.
  4. When refueling your mower, be sure the engine is off and cool.
  5. Never leave your mower unattended while switched on.
  6. Use proper lifting techniques when moving heavy items such as bags of soil.
  7. Call before you dig! Contact Hydro before any you break ground to ensure you don't come in contact with any underground power lines.
  8. If your work brings you close to overhead power lines (cleaning eves troughs, etc.) call Hydro to avoid a hazard.
